Jim Barry 2017 The Florita Riesling (Clare Valley)

From nearly 60-year-old vines, The Florita is a wine destined for a long life. Despite a few years of bottle age, it is tight and austere, with reductive notes at the fore when first opened. As the wine warms in the glass, the bright citrus fruit starts to show. The acidity on the palate remains laser sharp, with a slight prickle that dissipates with time. There's a gently slippery texture, a lovely tea tree character and limey freshness that lingers on the finish. Drink now with a meal until 2032 at least. Christina Pickard
