Rhum J.M. Vieux 1997 Rhum Agricole

The bouquet offers scents of fruitcake and rummy sweetness/oakiness; the vegetal/grassy quality expected from this category is missing. The palate entry is sweet and bubble gum-like with nary a hint of grass or sugarcane; the midpalate stage is pleasing and mature, sweet and woody. Concludes sweet, sap-like and a touch maple-like.
