This wine's nutty, rounded richness and hint of woodsmoke glint in the glass. Its intense citrus freshness, which recalls lemon and orange oil, is tempered by a slight smoky edge. Rotgipfler is one of Austria's rarer indigenous grapes, and this one is particularly unusual, intense and concentrated. It's a party in a glass that's lovely now but will develop. Drink 2018–2028.
