Joseph Drouhin 2017 Clos des Mouches Premier Cru (Beaune)

Cellar Selection

In this wine, an initial flash of ripe, black cherry blows off to reveal a gentle note of vanilla. The palate comes in with unexpected freshness. A bright body showcases red rather than black cherry, supported by filigreed tannins and a hint of rounded smokiness that recalls a cured meat. The finish offers a concentrated, fresh and a wonderful blend of smokiness and red fruit. Anne Krebiehl MW
