Joseph Jewell 2008 Grist Vineyard Zinfandel (Dry Creek Valley)

Lots to admire in this single-vineyard Zinfandel from Zin's natural home, Dry Creek Valley. It's rich in ripe summer berry and spice flavors, with briary, fuzzy tannins. Two problems, though. It's too sweet, and high alcohol makes it feel hot.
