93pointsJoseph Jewell 2009 Elk Prairie Vineyard Pinot Noir (Humboldt County)

Joseph Jewell's 2009 Elk Prairie is even better than its 2008, which is saying something. This vintage opens with perfumed cola spice and cinnamon that evolves in its lightly textured, lush mouthfeel into decadent strawberry in crème Anglaise. Bright, with a lingering finish, this Pinot Noir only gets better while in the glass. Virginie Boone
