Julien Cécillon 2019 Les Marguerites (Crozes-Hermitage)

Editors' Choice

Whiffs of violet and fur mingle into bristling blackberry and cassis in this lovely, nuanced Syrah. Moderately full in body but packed with zesty, sun-kissed berry flavor, it's a freshly balanced wine marked by fine, delicate tannins and a lingering crushed stone finish. Ready now but should drink well through 2029 at least while gaining earthier, more animal complexities. Anna Lee C. Iijima
