Julien Schaal 2017 Rosacker Calcaire Grand Cru Riesling (Alsace)

Cellar Selection

Just tender notes of freshly cut lemon peel reach the nose. A little more air reveals a touch of heady lime. The clean-cut palate sticks to this taut lime and lemon scheme with incisive freshness and tingling zingy tanginess. Cool freshness seems like a vein at the core of this taut, restrained and fresh wine. The finish is dry and clean. This will need time to unfurl its full force of citrus. Drink 2020–2038.
