Julien Schaal 2018 Schoenenbourg Grand Cru Gypse Riesling (Alsace)

A touch of reduction still accompanies vivid hints of peach and Mirabelle plum on the nose of this wine. On the palate the opulence of the fruit becomes apparent in the golden, juicy flow that brims with ripeness. Everything is checked and countered by vivid, bright freshness that almost has a pleasantly bitter edge. It's a rich but dry and streamlined Riesling of immense concentration. Anne Krebiehl MW
