Junta 2011 Escalera Red (Curicó Valley)

This blend of Carmenère, Syrah, Cab Sauvignon and Petit Verdot smells of forced oak and mint on top of standard berry scents. The palate is full and oaky but not heavy. Ripe yet racy flavors of jammy berry fruits are woody on a finish that's tannic and rubbing. Michael Schachner
