Kadesh Barnea 2006 Estate Bottled Kosher Merlot (Negev Hills)

Moderate aromas of burnt coffee, cocoa dustings, black plum and berries lead into a similarly confectioned mouth loaded with sweet spice and chocolate-covered dried cherries. Solidly structured, but the 10 months spent in 90% American oak is a tad too apparent and somewhat overwhelms the palate. Lauren Buzzeo
