Kaiken 2003 Ultra Cabernet Sauvignon (Mendoza)

Editors' Choice

Clumsy at first, but admittedly tasted a month prior to release. Time frees up deep, sturdy fruit overlayed with a sheet of creamy oak that yields vanilla, resin and subtle spice flavors. Chunky and ripe; the berry fruit is 100% mature. Will knit together with more time in bottle. Better in 2006. Michael Schachner
