Finding good under-$15 Cabernet has become almost impossible, so heavy praise goes out to Montes' basic Argentinean Cabernet. It delivers savory aromas of barbecued meat, berry fruit and baked brown sugar. The palate has a touch of candy, but not too much. There's sweet raspberry, blackberry and marshmallow flavors, but the feel and overall balance absorb that sweetness while eliminating any potential sappy, cloying qualities.
