Kaleidos 2012 Syrah (Paso Robles)

Cellar Selection

Dark and viscous in the glass, this wine shows chipped asphalt, concentrated blueberries, uncracked peppercorns, budding violet, chocolate cake and earthy, black loam on the packed-with-potential nose. The soft and plush palate carries that loamy flavor forward, with dried black-cherry fruit and a menthol-like sensation leading into the finish. Drink 2018–2022. Matt Kettmann
