Kangarilla Road 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon (McLaren Vale)

Editors' Choice

Full-bodied and youthfully tannic, but quite promising, this wine features a big core of cassis fruit and plenty of oak-derived embellishment. It's not herbal, but not pruny either, hitting the sweet spot between under- and overripe. Good now, but should hold through at least 2013. Joe Czerwinski
