Kanonkop 2017 Black Label Estate Pinotage (Simonsberg-Stellenbosch)

#91 Top 100 Cellar Selections 2022
Return to List

Opaque garnet in the glass, this dense, intense and concentrated pour offers assertive aromas of graphite, blackberry, black raspberry, licorice, fennel and tobacco leaf on the nose. The bold, mouthfilling palate offers a strong impression of chewy tannins and flavors of blackberry, plum and just a touch of crème de cassis that all carry through to the warm, spicy finish. This is quite big and bold right now, so try holding for added mellowed maturity and complexity; enjoy after 2026 and through 2041. Lauren Buzzeo
