River rocks and smoky mineral tones meld into zippy tangerine and grapefruit in this deeply penetrating Spätlese. Medium-sweet and delightfully piercing in style, it's an intensely fruity sip held upright by a darting spine of lemon-lime acidity. It's delightful in youth and lingers long through a concentrated, honeyed finish but should drink beautifully well through 2030, at least. Anna Lee C. Iijima
