Kelley Fox 2019 Carter Vineyard Pinot Noir (Eola-Amity Hills)

Carter is now a Ken Wright property that was planted in 1983 and named for the original owners. The old Wädenswil vines bring unusual precision and cumin to the plum and purple fruits. There are also nice touches of iron and anise and breakfast tea. It's a subtle, sturdy wine, with silky tannins and ongoing flavor development through a long finish. Paul Gregutt
