Kempton Clark 1999 (Dunnigan Hills)

From an old California variety. The immigrant winemakers used to make it fruity and dark and tannic, a wine to age forever. This winery makes it fruity and soft. It's drinkable right away, but it does have a bite of acidity to balance out olive oil and pine nuts. —S.H.
