Ken Brown 2014 Watch Hill Vineyard Syrah (Santa Barbara County)

Candied blackberry fruit gives way to elegant purple flowers, a slightly sour tar and hints of roasted meat on the nose of this single-vineyard expression from a property planted in 2002. The palate is firmly structured and laden with acid, offering flavors of dried black currant, more purple flowers and roasted coffee. Matt Kettmann
