Kenwood 1997 Upper Weise Zinfandel (Sonoma Valley)

The earthiest and most closed of the Kenwood trio, this wine's aromas currently amount to little more than tree bark and dust, with the merest hint of plums. It's also the fullest-bodied. Dense and complex, its ripe fruits come out if you swirl it ferociously, and the wine turns tannic and spicy on the finish.
