85pointsKim Crawford 2018 Signature Reserve Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough)

Right now, this wine feels underripe and very reductive. Those sweet onion aromas are tough to get past. Canned green beans, and a feline note are prominent too, and citrus rind and pineapple fruit sneak in underneath it all. Acidity on the palate is rather searing, slicing through a weighty mouthfeel, but the two don't seem to gel. This may need a few years to settle into itself more but the jury's still out.
