Kiona 1997 Syrah (Yakima Valley)

It's made from all estate fruit, though it's not labeled as such. This was the first vintage from a newly planted 6-acre vineyard. There's good color and ripe cherry fruit, but also some rough, green tannins and a hint of garlic in the nose. Paul Gregutt
