Koerner 2017 La Corse Red (Clare Valley)

Editors' Choice

Pale strawberry in color, this small batch, natural-leaning producer specializes in ultralight reds. The blend is highly unusual, comprised of 50% Sangiovese, 25% Sciacarello, 15% Grenache and 10% Malbec. It offers bright, wispy red berry fruit, white pepper, dried rose petals, pickle juice and a stalky cinnamon. The palate is delicate in feel, with crisp acidity, a tart red-currant flavor and sandy, savory tannins. Christina Pickard
