Koppamurra 1999 Red (Limestone Coast)

Inky and black, with blueberry and intense tire rubber on the nose. The palate is dense, requiring a jackhammer to get at the black-fruit core. The finish is hard and tannic, and the wine has a sharp personality. Power and depth is all here, but balance and charm are nonexistent. Michael Schachner
