Koyle 2007 Royale Cabernet Sauvignon (Colchagua Valley)

After the Undurraga family sold off their eponymous family winery, the younger generation started Koyle with CS and Syrah. This is their best wine of the inaugural release. It's dark, deep, piercing and perfumed, with fine tobacco and berry fruit aromas and flavors. Oak is well applied; the fruit intense and pure. Only the young, tough tannins need to be resolved. Best in 2011–13. Michael Schachner
