Kramer 2016 Heritage Pinot Noir (Yamhill-Carlton)

Sourced from a 1984 Pommard planting, this is a smoky, earthy wine, with exaggerated stem flavors perhaps attributable to the inclusion of 25% whole clusters. The fruit is light berry, and the earthy components really dominate, along with a streak of cola. It was aged in one-quarter new French oak for 18 months. Paul Gregutt
