92pointsKuentz-Bas 2016 Eichberg Trois Châteaux Grand Cru Pinot Gris (Alsace)

The pear notes on the nose are clothed in vanilla-scented creaminess. The palate has a similar richness and a mellow smooth feel that couches subtly sweet pear fruit and a pleasantly bitter phenolic richness. All of this is countered with lemony brightness which defines and freshens. This rich rounded wine has a medium-sweet finish. Drink now through 2025. Anne Krebiehl MW
