La Braccesca 2016 Maggiarino (Vino Nobile di Montepulciano)

French oak, fig, dates and blue flower aromas are front and center. Elegantly structured, the smooth palate offers spiced blueberry, prune, espresso and licorice accompanied by taut, fine-grained tannins. A tobacco note lingers on the finish while velvety, fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity provide support. Drink through 2028. Kerin O’Keefe
