La Roncaia 2002 Eclisse Sauvignon-Picolit Sauvignon (Colli Orientali del Friuli)
One of the most fragrant, subtle Sauvignons you'll encounter. The nose spreads out like a garden in spring, with honeysuckle supported by chalky minerality. The palate delivers lemon chiffon along with light tropical fruit, while the finish is creamy, long and flawless. Could have scored even higher, but one reviewer she said it lacked varietal character (could be the Picolit) and fell off on the back end. Imported by Domaine Select Wine Estates.
