La Solitude 2016 White (Côtes du Rhône)

There's a silken, waxy appeal to this slightly savory but opulent, mouthfilling dry white made from large proportions of Clairette blended with Viognier and Grenache Blanc. A slightly muted fruit quality suggests dried orange peels, earth and nuts rather than fresh fruit or flowers. It's an elegant wine with a delicately spicy finish. Drink now. Anna Lee C. Iijima
