Laetitia 1999 La Colline Pinot Noir (Arroyo Grande Valley)

Cool coastal conditions make for a wine that straddles the ripeness line, with notes of blackberries and earthy, herbal notes of tobacco, sage and cranberries. Lavish oak softens and fattens. The wine is very dry, and there are some unresolved tannins that a year or so of aging might soften.
