96pointsLaetitia 2016 La Coupelle Pinot Noir (Arroyo Grande Valley)

Polished and ripe aromas of black cherry, cardamom, chai spice and wet slate make for a very compelling nose on this top-shelf bottling from the longtime producer in southern San Luis Obispo County. The palate is tense in structure yet widely expressive in flavors, offering black cherry, dark strawberry, slate-driven minerality and more delicious chai spice, all cut by bountiful acidity.
