This is a good value and offers more brightness and drinkability than some of this producer's denser upper-tier wines. High-toned red-berry and plum fruits are balanced by ground pepper and savory spice. The palate is medium weight, with slippery, silky fruit and a crunchy freshness. Tannins are sappy, supple and well integrated. The wine shows a bit of astringency, especially on the finish, but overall it makes for solid weeknight sipping. Christina Pickard
