This round, fresh and stylish Chardonnay from the Casablanca Valley is a step up from the middling 2000 version. The bouquet yields ample pear, almond and coconut aromas, while the palate is loaded with pear fruit and a hint of oak-driven smoke. Classy and concise, and better made than almost every other similarly priced Chardonnay. Michael Schachner
