Lapostolle 2011 Cuvée Alexandre Apalta Vineyard Carmenère (Colchagua Valley)

Hailing from a very cool vintage, this is more neutral, stripped back and tough than usual. Lemony oak and generic black-fruit aromas feed into a tannic, fat palate with generic flavors of cassis and blackberry. This is big and fruity but not complex or showing a lot of character.
