Last Light 2015 Derbyshire Vineyard Pinot Noir (San Luis Obispo County)

This well-named project comes from a seaside vineyard that may get the last direct sunlight of the entire Central Coast, and the cool-climate aspects thrive. Aromas of dewy sagebrush, shaved pine and myrrh mix with mulberry and underripe raspberry on the nose. The mouthfeel is full while the flavors are tart with tangy cranberry cherry tomato and Kalamata olive, leaving the palate refreshed. Matt Kettmann
