Laterus 2019 The Big Dark Red (Columbia Valley (WA))

This is a blend of equal parts Syrah from Gamache Vineyard in the White Bluffs and Cabernet Sauvignon from Shaw Vineyard on Red Mountain. Aged 23 months in half new French oak, the aromas are subdued, with notes of black fruit, tar, cherry and spice. Ripe, center focused fruit flavors follow. A warm finish caps it off. The focus is on hedonism. Sean P. Sullivan
