Laus Vitae 2012 Riserva (Montepulciano d'Abruzzo)

The top of the tier from the largest co-op winery in Abruzzo, Codice Citra, the brand name means “Praise to Life” in Latin. This is ripe and warming on the nose, displaying a wealth of dark cherry and blackberry supported by cocoa and allspice. It's well mannered and plush on the palate, yet still maintains structure from a dusting of well-knit tannins and a burst of juicy acidity. Alexander Peartree
