LaVelle 2011 Matthew's Reserve Pinot Noir (Willamette Valley)

This seems rather light for a reserve wine—sharp, spicy, and jagged. It cloaks its fruit in layers of cola, carmelized honey and maple sugar. It's not technically a sweet wine, but rather a wine that has some sweet flavors, whether from barrel aging or some other part of the winemaking regimen. Paul Gregutt
