LaVelle 2012 Semi-Sweet Riesling (Willamette Valley)

This still feels off-dry, even with residual sugar at 4%. It's a fruity, forward wine, loaded with ripe apple and peach flavors. But there it stops short and turns a little bitter. It seems to be missing some of the aromatic highlights that give Rieslings their engaging complexity. Paul Gregutt
