Le Bonheur 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon (Simonsberg-Stellenbosch)

You can smell and taste the good red and black berry fruit here, but the menthol-toast oak weighs on it heavily. The mouthfeel is supple and filling, yet the package doesn't cohere quite as expected. Yes it is good, but the whole seems less-than-what-was-aimed-for, or the sum of its parts.
