Le Cadeau 2017 Merci Reserve Pinot Noir (Chehalem Mountains)

Though lighter than the outstanding 2016, this is a good effort in a more difficult vintage. A mix of heirloom clones from a south-facing block at the estate, this blends herbs, earth, wild berries and a hint of mint in a compact but nicely structured wine with aging potential over the next half decade. Paul Gregutt
