Mineral aromas lead the muscular nose forward in powerful fashion. The palate yields some spicy mint and clove but also a lot of oak-covered fruit; it's not entirely dissimilar to chocolate-covered cherries. The finish seems a bit thick, and it's also sweet, much like the wine as a whole. —M.S.
