L'Ecole No. 41 1999 Seven Hills Vineyard Syrah (Walla Walla Valley (WA))

Editors' Choice

With a mouthfeel that's this smooth, with this many layers, we could almost forget to mention its long, toast-meets-red berry finish. Whoops, there we go. Jammy blackberry, brown sugar and chocolate aromas are "so sexy"; the palate echoes the same flavors, but also adds smoke, dried spices and plum to the mix. Reviewers sum it up as a "sexy fleshpot" and "black as night, but done right!"
