L'Ecole No. 41 2003 Seven Hills Vineyard Estate Perigee Red (Walla Walla Valley (WA))

L'Ecole's estate Bordeaux blend is a bigger, chewier wine than its companion Apogee, although in this new vintage the two are far closer than the 2002s. Still pulling itself together, this wine hints at lime, stone and pepper, and features a fair amount of broad, chocolaty oak. The fruit is hiding just a bit, but this is very well made and should round out nicely over the next 3–5 years. Paul Gregutt
