L'Ecole No. 41 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon (Columbia Valley (WA))

A fair amount of this is old vine (1972) Cabernet from Bacchus and Dionysus; it's 100% pure varietal. Dark and richly fragrant, it delivers a well-structured mix of cassis, plum, smoky herb and roasted coffee flavors, showing the herbal side of Washington Cabernet to good effect. Paul Gregutt
