L'Ecole No. 41 2017 Estate Grown Apogee Pepper Bridge Vineyard Red (Walla Walla Valley (WA))

Cabernet Sauvignon makes up 65% of this wine, with the balance Merlot (18%) Malbec (14%) and Cabernet Franc. The volatiles seem a bit high out of the gate, unusual for the winery. The aromas bring notes of maraschino cherry, barrel spice and herb. The palate is lighter than the impression the aromas give, painting around the edges initially, filling out over time. Tasted twice with consistent notes. Sean P. Sullivan
