Leeuwin Estate 2019 Art Series Riesling (Margaret River)

Leeuwin's latest Riesling release is a bright and ultraracy bottling. It opens with a lemony zing, accompanied by waxy lime leaf, fresh ginger and a touch of salty reduction. The palate is bone dry and chalky textured, with rapier acidity. This might be a tad on the lean and mean side for some American palates but those acidity-loving Riesling lovers will dig it. Plus, it should cellar rather nicely. Drink now with food until 2030 at least. Christina Pickard
