Leon Beyer 2009 Comtes d'Eguisheim Gewurztraminer (Alsace)

Honeyed, lifted headiness on the nose of this wine suggests both evolution and richness. The palate adds layers of chalky earth, fresh field mushroom, waxy lemon and pleasantly bitter pith. This shows what Gewurztraminer can be if evolved: layered, rich, concentrated and long. Waxy earthiness dominates the perfectly dry finish. Anne Krebiehl MW
